SMTA

GRIN-Global uses the SMTA click-wrap method of acceptance. When requesting germplasm, if any accessions are covered under SMTA, you must select the Yes ("Accept") radio button. If you select "No," these accessions will be removed from the order.

NPGS Note: As of January 1, 2024, the USDA National Plant Germplasm System implemented a requirement: All international requests shipped outside of the USA must accept the SMTA. An exception to this is germplasm that is managed by four genebanks that are non-ARS collaborators that use GRIN-Global to assist in managing their collections: Desert Legume Program at University of Arizona, Tobacco Collection at North Carolina State University, C. M. Rick Tomato Genetic Stocks Collection at the University of California at Davis, and the USDA U.S. Forest Service National Seed Laboratory. These four collections will require SMTA acceptance for distributions outside the U. S. only for material the sites acquired with the

SMTA.
